Fellow christians, A question about the Bible?

I'm an atheist first and foremost but a fairly good amateur theologian ahhaha... Anyways "god" seems to be a d*ck throughout the bible to show his power and ultimatlely it was a tactic used to convert.... Kinda like if u don't do as I say ull rot and burn and suffer eteranlly
